BRIDGE & BOARD GAMES

 DISCOVERY AWARD

The Discovery Award is similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award for young people but is aimed at those over 50 years of age.  For further info, please contact Ethel Taylor on 01224 732476.

There are 3 levels; Bronze, Silver and Gold, and each level has 4 sections:
Service in the Community, Hobby or Interest, Recreational Pursuit and  Discovery Challenge.

HOLIDAY BREAKS

Holidays are arranged in conjunction with the Total Pensioners Group.

Recent destinations include Oban, Durham, Lytham St. Annes and Belfast.

LOCAL HISTORY GROUP

A series of talks covering areas of interest in Aberdeen City and the local environment.

OUTINGS

A range of events is organised throughout the year.  Recent activities include a Burns Supper and a Rockabilly Party, lunches at the Gate 63 restaurant and visits to Newton Dee and a garden in South Deeside.

RAMBLES

Usually on the first Friday of the month, the Rambling Group embark on a 4 mile maximum, flat walk, to enjoy our wonderful surroundings. It usually ends with a stop for a hot drink and a fine piece at a local cafe.

SOCIAL EVENTS

We organise occasional daytime and evening events which, as well as being enjoyable in themselves, are generally for the purpose of raising money for whichever charity we are currently supporting.
